Boosting practitioners tool kit for tackling the post-pandemic issues and boosting morale in early years settings through music
Boogie Mites are collaborating with Early Years Consultants to share their subject expertise, along with a Boogie Mites trainer who will link music to the topic. Music is a whole brain activity that supports cross curriculum development, providing an uplifting tool for tackling many of the issues caused by the last 2 years of social restrictions and lost education.
These online training evenings aim to provide the confidence, knowledge and resources to boost morale and expand the tool kit to include the power of music for the benefit of all involved. Each workshop covers 3 or 4 Boogie Mites songs that are provided as part of the training.
Making Music Outdoors – Monday 20th June 7-8:30pm

The Joy of Music – Monday 4th July 7-8:30pm
This unique session demonstrates the immense power of music in the development of children. Ben Kingston-Hughes will look at joy as a motivator for learning with reference to various themes. Liv McLennan will cover 4 Boogie Mites songs that will be available for you to trial, supporting the themes covered: ‘being joyful’, ‘being silly’, dinosaurs and bonding.

Engaging Parents Through the Power of Music – Monday 10th October 7-8:30pm
Presented by Early Years Consultant Sue Asquith and Boogie Mites Trainer Tasha Bretten.
Join Sue and Tasha to learn how to support parental engagement and why we should promote home learning. Discover how research shows us that music can provide an effective tool for parent engagement.

Developing Literacy Foundations Through Music – to be announced

Musical Storytime and Maths – to be announced
Presented by professional storyteller Rohini Vij and Boogie Mites Trainer Liv McLennan.
Learn how to enhance storytelling with music, encouraging a love of stories and music in children through interactive musical storytime. Rohini will share storytelling tips and Liv will share music tips, focusing on developing foundations for mathematical thinking.

Neuromusical Evidence and Early Years Music Workshop – to be announced
Presented by award winning educator Dr. Anita Collins and Boogie Mites Trainer Liv McLennan.

Join Mine and Liv to learn how to spot and support emerging mental health issues. Social skills have taken a big hit over the last 2 years, discover how neuromusical evidence shows us that music can provide a valuable tool for closing the gap in this area.

If your setting is currently a licensee of a Boogie Mites Music programme, these training evenings will provide a good reminder of the value of daily music practice as well as providing CPD in the topic area and understanding of how music supports this specific area.
