Monthly Webinars
We know from experience that when Boogie Mites is launched at a setting, via onsite or online/internal training, there is a burst of motivation and excitement but that this needs to be fed with refresher, updates and extensions of learning about music in early years.
Over the last 2 years we have trialled and developed a webinar format that offers this ongoing CPD for your team. We cover a range of topics, presented by our trainers and sometimes with co-presenters who are experts in the topic being covered. Here are examples of the years topics:
Music and self-regulation (with Mine Conkbyer)
Music and Literacy (with Sue Asquith)
Music and Schemas (with Ace Early Years Training)
The Joy of Music (with Ben Kingston-Hughes)
Neuromusical Evidence and School Readiness (with Dr Anita Collins)
Music outdoors (with Forest school Manager)
Here are some feedback comments from webinar attendees:
“Insightful, informative and well delivered. A great understanding of Schema’s and how you can link these developmental milestones to musical sessions.” Sohie-Jo Lusted, Monkeys in Motion Nursery
“As always this Boogie Mites workshop was fun, informative and has provided lots of inspiration for ways to improve our music time outdoors” Shona May, Brambles Nursery St Just, Cornwall.
“I really enjoyed the music and literacy webinar. I particularly liked the promotion of Phase 1 Phonics. I really think that Boogie Mites will help our staff understand Phase 1 phonics more. Jolly and easy to learn.” Jan Thorp Quality and Training Advisor, The Old Station Nursery.

Here is information about the upcoming January, February and March 2023 webinars:

How music supports a healthy lifestyle – healthy mind, healthy body and healthy planet. Covering 2 songs from Boogie Mites Healthy Living Programme in detail.
Subscribing nurseries get access to the recording of each webinar via their customer hub account for one week following the live date.
The annual subscription was piloted by Orchard Barn Stratford St Mary Nursery (Bright Stars Nursery) in September 2022:
“Orchard Barn Stratford St Mary Nursery subscribed to the monthly webinars with Boogie Mites in September 2022 having taken Boogie Mites School Ready Music Programmes in-house in 2021 and later adding Boogie Mites Minis, Teenies, and Maths Programmes. These programmes are used in the setting daily to support the children’s learning and development, especially in the prime areas of Personal, Social, and Emotional Development, Physical Development, and Communication and Language Development. By joining the monthly webinar I have found it covers a different topic each time, extending all of the staff’s knowledge around music and early years development on an ongoing basis. Each webinar can be attended ‘live’ or the recording watched the following week by every member of the team so that we all understand the value of music, and continue to gain new ideas and confidence to progress our music provision with each age group of children. Since September the webinars have covered: Music and Literacy, Music and Maths, Music and Letter Sound Stories, and the Joy of Music. We are looking forward to upcoming topics: Music for Under 2’s and Parent Engagement Through Music topics. I would recommend the webinar subscription to all nurseries that would like to upskill their team with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to harness the power of music in their setting via good quality CPD. All of the songs and the videos are added to the portal for future use and support practitioners however they learn best”
Lavinia Dzundza, Orchard Barn Stratford St Mary Nursery
