Teacher Training Project 2025/26
School Ready Music Programme
The Lanyado Boogie Mites School Ready Music Programme: Teacher Training Project 2025/26 builds on the learning and impact of the Lanyado Fund–supported London Primary School projects delivered between 2021 and 2024.
This phase is designed to demonstrate the scalability and sustainability of the Boogie Mites School Ready Music Programme while deepening its impact for children at risk of developmental delay.
The 2025/26 project is being delivered across eight primary schools with onsite nursery provision in areas of high deprivation in different regions of England.
Outcomes are aligned explicitly with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework Early learning Goals (ELG’s), with particular emphasis on language development, pre-literacy skills, collaborative learning, self-regulation and inclusion.
While formal outcome data will be collected at the end of the academic year, early qualitative feedback from the EYFS teams indicates encouraging signs of impact. Practitioners report improvements in children’s engagement, listening and attention, and willingness to participate in adult-led group activities. Several examples describe children with additional needs or emotional regulation difficulties becoming more settled, confident and happy over time.
London Schools Teacher Training Project 2021-2024
School Ready Music Programme
The Lanyado Fund supported the introduction of the Boogie Mites School Ready Music Programme in six London schools serving areas of high deprivation. Boogie Mites trainers worked closely with EYFS teams to implement music-based learning strategies designed to help close the attainment gap.
The project focused on enhancing early language, literacy, and social development by delivering music workshops to all pre-school children and targeted Year R pupils. Staff training ensured the programme could be embedded into daily practice, maximizing long-term impact.

Phase 2 - Revisiting The Schools
The evaluation of phase 2 of the project highlights the Boogie Mites School Ready Music Programme’s inclusive design, effectively engaging children with special educational needs and children learning English as an additional language. Additionally, it promotes accessibility through parent involvement and supports home learning, ensuring long-term benefits for families.
