We have listened to our customers and heard many of you say that following the launch of a Boogie Mites Music Programme via onsite training in the setting there is high excitement and enthusiasm, and the online training resources are good for supporting the learning of the songs during the first couple of months. However, we heard time and time again that provision of regular ongoing ‘live’ training that extends learning about music in early years and keeps levels of excitement and enthusiasm high, would be valuable.
From January-July 2022 we trialled some webinars on various subjects, collaborating with experts in the field of development being covered and linking music activities. We had some great feedback:
Music and Literacy Webinar:
It was great to have a refresher and to watch how Tash presented the songs. I will present them in my role as support for various staff teams across various nurseries. Really lovely way to extend and enhance literacy and language. Boogie Mites brings language and literacy development to life for children and adults in ways that are fun and memorable.” Mim Brown, NDNA Associate Trainer and Quality Counts Assessment Team
Music and Maths Webinar:
“A great balance of content – I like the combination of overall maths concepts & learning points from Sue, followed by a lively & engaging music + maths section from Tasha. They’re both very knowledgeable about their subject areas. A great way to support young children’s maths learning in a really fun way.” Clare Waite, Wakefield Methodist Foundation Stage
Musical Stories Webinar:
“The workshop was very informative and engaging. The concepts explained very appropriate and very clear. I really loved the demonstration. The queries were also answered very patiently.” Akanksha Chaurasia, Bright Beginnings
The Joy of Music:
“Ben’s enthusiasm and knowledge was inspiring and made me want to shout it from the rooftops how important music and movement is!” Jo Gunns, Carlton Colville Preschool
We also had some feedback that has helped us to develop these webinars:
“More of them, more physical, more time for questions, more engaging with people”
“One hour and 30 minutes is a bit long for an evening after a full days work”
“Can we have a copy of the recording of the webinar to rewatch and make notes”
“Links to the research for further reading:”
“Could we have some that are live during the day as well as evenings?”
“When sending out the zoom instructions, tell the participants that they need room to move about and mention the equipment they may want to bring. I was unable to move as there is no space”
We have acted on the feedback and the demand for ongoing music related CPD and we have planned an exciting schedule of 12 webinars over the next year.
