Amazing Alliteration – Through music, movement and play, children develop the listening, language and communication skills that form the foundations for lifelong learning.

Join Boogie Mites trainer Tasha Bretten and DfE literacy specialist Stephanie Hammond for this inspiring webinar exploring the power of alliteration as an essential pre-phonics skill.

Before children can successfully learn phonics, they need opportunities to develop strong listening skills and become aware of the sounds that make up spoken language. Alliteration helps children notice, recognise and play with initial sounds of words, a key component of phonological awareness, that we know from research underpins future reading and writing success. Steph will share games, books and rhymes that are tried and tested to engage children in alliteration and sound play. Steph will also explain the Year R Autumn term pre-phonics to phonics curriculum so that you can better understand the importance of the work we do with sounds in pre-school. Tasha will signpost Boogie Mites School Ready Programme Licensees to Boogie Mites “Come On Everyone” SATPIN sound song and share 2 new alliteration songs for you to add to your repertoire.

This practical and engaging webinar will explore how music can be used to strengthen children’s phonological awareness through alliteration songs and games, repetition, rhythm, movement and imaginative play. Explore more ideas for harnessing the power of active music making to help children develop confidence with language while creating joyful, memorable learning experiences that engage all learners.

You will have access to a recording of the session for one week after the live date.
