Example Session Outline

The standard training workshop covering one of Boogie Mites core programmes of 20+ songs and linked activities is 3 hours with the following agenda:

15 minutes

Introduction exercise music game – sharing current use of music in groups and one to one work

30 minutes

Review of neuroscience evidence and group exercise to consider how music supports all areas of the EYFS.

1 hour 45 mins

Cover each of the songs and linked activities of Boogie Mites Programme;

  • how to lead them as structured activities
  • how to adapt and progress them

Each song and activity will be discussed and practiced to build confidence and motivation.

Linked activities include musical pattern work, craft, action and sound stories, rhymes and role play.

15 minutes

Discussion of how the songs and activities could be introduced to extend current practice – small and large group work.

15 minutes

Evaluation of impact considered.
This can be adapted to the requirements of the customer. The training can be extended to full day or with a second half day some weeks later, covering a parent workshop or course, implementation plan and making instruments session.

Boogie Mites ABCD Music Methodology

Boogie Mites have collaborated with Neuro-musical Researcher Dr Anita Collins to compile our ABCD Music Methodology training package launching in August 2024.

The course will take a closer look at the four pillars of our ABCD Music Methodology – Active Attention, Brain Boost, Community Cohesion and Daily Dose. 

Each module will include a Boogie Mites song and linked activities, and a music workshop to put them all together.
