Regular practise of music and movement in the early years builds strong foundations for language and literacy. This taster training covers an overview of the neuroscience evidence, the importance of rhythmic awareness and sound processing skills. The training package also provides suggestions for music activities that work to build strong foundations for phonological awareness, language and literacy.
You will gain life-time access to four Boogie Mites school ready songs and the license to use them in a named setting. An action song, a drumming song, a tapping song and a tidy up song. You will also have access to teaching support resources as follows:
- 30 minute training video covering neuroscience links
- Teacher notes in a workshop plan
- A video of each song in action in an early years setting
- An instructor video for each of the songs
- Song lyrics
The songs can be used as individual music activities at different times of the day or as a music circle time session that supports lengthening attention span, boosting social, emotional and group skills, fine and gross motor skills, as well as language and literacy foundations.
The workshop plan includes the four school ready songs, as well as some new ideas for two traditional songs and a tuning into music time ‘hello’ activity. Boogie Mites music workshops can hold 3-5 year olds attention for 45 minutes with regular practise and a well prepared facilitator. Try and it and be amazed!
