The brain uses the same neurological pathways for music as it does for language acquisition, so it makes sense that music builds strong cognitive foundations for language development. Music is a universal language and therefore can particularly support children and parents with English as an Additional Language (EAL). Music and craft offer activity ideas that work well to engage and empower parents.
Theodora Bogiou, founder of ExSELlens, will share her experience and expertise of working with families using language learning activities that help parents embrace the role of learning alongside their child. She will also share ideas for aiding communication and group bonding between children, parents and educators who do not all share the same language. Theodora will share activities that she uses with her parent and child groups, equipping you with ideas and resources for engaging parents, supporting them to support their children’s language learning.
Tasha will share two Boogie Mites original songs that can also be used within a parent engagement session within your setting.
You will have access to a recording of the session for one week after the live date.
