Great fun whilst learning encouraged. We can carry on at home now we have the CD and instruments.

Boogie Mites is always a well received part of both my literacy and numeracy courses (reception children and parents in school setting). Their adaptable themes mean that their sessions can be planned to fit in with the work we are already covering and enhance the provision that we are offering. It is lovely to see both parents and children losing their inhibitions and having fun, whilst learning, through the music. It can be difficult to stress to parents the part that music has to play in their child’s development. Boogie Mites shows this in a fun and lively way and gets the parents and children both fully engaged.

Good fun, entertaining for the children and parents! Children enjoyed making drums and shakers and to take them home to use with the CD –great idea. The CD is on in the car so it encourages my son to sing to the older children which help him with speech and language and general interaction.

I attended the EY Boogie Mites L&S training evening for child minders last November and thoroughly enjoyed it. I left feeling so motivated and singing all the way home! My children range from 11 months to 8 years and know most of the songs and the Boogie Mites CD is used everyday. We all made our own instruments and learnt about recycling too!

We have really enjoyed the sessions. It has been fantastic to meet the children and see parent interactions. We had a great turn out and lots of parents knew some songs from nursery. Fantastic fun, giving us lots of ideas. Thank you.

  • Mum attending workshop at Waterlooville CC Sprin 09.

The workshops were really enjoyable, lots of noise and fun which kids enjoy. The children were kept busy and interested through out. Ella has gained a sense of rhythm from listening to the CD and interacting skills at the workshops.

Children and parents all joined in, quickly learning words and actions. Lots of smiles and participation! Good interactions between parent and child too, laughing with each other at the actions. Children listened well and followed instructions. Parents seemed enthusiastic to learn the songs at home with their children.

We really enjoyed using Boogie Mites songs for transition. The parents loved them and the fact that they were so full of actions meant that the parents got involved! They wanted to enjoy the songs alongside their children, which was lovely to see. The songs have also helped us in the first few days of school as the children remember them from before the summer and still love them.

  • Jade Horsted, Nursery Manager, St Paul’s Primary School

The children and parents were welcomed and introduced to one another with a welcome song which they all enjoyed. Parents were given an introduction to Boogie Mites and the benefits it will have when developing children's letters and sounds / literacy skills throughout the Foundation Stage in a fun way. Parents were encouraged to join in through their children, which was nice because it wasn't direct as some of our parents are shy. Parents were reminded throughout the session what aspect the song/music related to and why. Parents and children really enjoyed it and all parents want to purchase a parent pack.

A really super morning that clearly engaged all the children AND their parents. Pitched perfectly – both content and length of session. Really enthusiastic parents at the end of the session as they ate their ‘Chocolate Cake’. Many many thanks.

Boogie Mites have run many Family Learning funded music workshops for Mums and pre-school children in Portsmouth schools, children centres and community centres. The sessions are fun and encourage parent participation and shared enjoyment of the music and activities. The children are introduced to new vocabulary, rhyming words, rhythm, counting, sorting, teamwork, physical co-ordination, dancing and role-play in these lively and well structured sessions which keep the children and adults stimulated throughout.

The Family Learning workshop was wonderful and having the CD at home is a REALLY BIG help. My daughter especially loves her shaker, it was a lovely idea for them to make instruments for themselves.
