Read What Others Have Said About Boogie Mites

 Engaging Families:

Boogie Mites provides an invaluable resource to reach out to parents and children overcoming barriers and achieving trust. They are an excellent way of hooking in target parents to signpost them on to other services, in addition to improving outcomes for young children. Sue Aspland Head Teacher, Stakes Hill Infants School, Waterlooville

Michelle did a brilliant job as the parents can be challenging, their attention span and listening skills are not consistent but Michelle kept them focussed.  The parents said that they did not realise that the songs had such an impact on their learning especially with the sounds.  Most of them enjoyed doing the craft with their children as it is not something they do at home. Yvonne Dixon, Mill Hill Primary School, Waterlooville, Hants

Boogie Mites is always a well received part of both my literacy and numeracy courses (reception children and parent in school setting). Their adaptable themes mean that their sessions can be planned to fit in with the work we are already covering and enhance the provision that we are offering. It is lovely to see both parents and children losing their inhibitions and having fun, whilst learning, through the music. Jo Duckett, Family Learning Tutor, Portsmout

The CD is on in the car so it encourages my son to sing to the older children which help him with speech and language and general interaction. Mum, Family Learning Workshop, Barnet

Supporting Learning Across the 3 Prime Areas:

Boogie Mites has provided our children with a positive musical experience. It has introduced a wealth of new songs that support our teaching, especially phonics.  The songs also involve physical participation and the movement improves the children’s balance, coordination and spatial awareness. Through combining music and movement the children are developing their concept of rhythm and are beginning to engage different senses in their learning. They also have great fun and look forward to the sessions every week. Ann Coetz, Nursery Manager, Edward Allen Community School, Stockwell, London

The sessions are fun and encourage parent participation and shared enjoyment of the music and activities. The children are introduced to new vocabulary, rhyming words, rhythm, counting, sorting, teamwork, physical coordination, dancing and role-play in these lively and well structured sessions which keep the children and adults stimulated throughout.Jacqui Lawrence, Adult & Family Learning Manager, Portsmouth

Increasing Confidence:

The course helped with imagination and gave me quality mother and daughter time.  We both made friends and it has built both of our confidence up in trusting playing and mixing socially. I have learnt the importance of singing and how it helps my child to read, listen and sound words.Mum, Stakes Hill Infants School, Waterlooville, Hants

I have enjoyed watching my son join in with singing and dancing and becoming more confident Mum, Stakes Hill Infants School, Waterlooville, Hants

One of the parents said how much she enjoyed it.  She is a parent who has needed support in the past so this is really good - increased her confidence significantly.......thanks. Susie James, Centre Manager, The Aviary Children's Centre, Eastleigh, Hant

Having Fun:

I observed some children singing Bangedy Bang Bang outside on an upturned water butt; the joy on the children’s faces doing it together as a group was wonderful to see.  Vikki Reader, Early Years Advisory Teacher, Isle of Wight

Super ‘feel good factor’ for everyone taking part. It will have an impact on all areas of learning but especially PSED and CLLD. ..an innovative approach to music in Early Years.  Martine Horvath, East Sussex Early Years Advisor

It is always a pleasure and inspirational experience working with the Boogie Mites team. Right from the early planning stages through to the fun, energetic and inclusive way that they engage and encourage Practitioners to join in with singing, learning and getting into role, Boogie Mites make music and singing a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Ella Harbut – Early Years Advisory Teacher,Portsmouth
