Clap Clap Clap (Video)
Clap Clap Clap is taken from the Boogie Mites Music and Movement Programme to Support Letters and Sounds Phase One and is a fun action song you can use at home or at your Early Years setting to help children to:
1. Remember a pattern of sounds in order
2. Tune in to sounds and rhythms that can be made with the body
3. Extend vocabulary by talking about and describing the sounds they make
Before the song: Run through the actions of the song. Click on this video clip of Harriet introducing Clap Clap Clap to a group of pre school children for some ideas! You can view the Clap Clap Clap lyrics here.
During the Song: Concentrate on the actions for the first few times and then encourage your child to join in with the singing: the simple catchy lyrics make this a fun sing-along song. You can watch a video of the whole song by clicking on the Featured Video box at the top of this page.
After the song: See if your child can remember the routine without the song playing. Make up your own routines: you can do this in the car, walking to the shops, at bathtime......anywhere!
